In some of the reference books I have written by "Henry Ford" and in refers to overheating quite a few times always saying =="front end alignment"== as the chief cause of overheating, out of alignment F/E causes just way too much drag on the engine, he also mentions brake adjustments as a culprit, so when we talk overheating it's not just under the bonnet where the culprit can be located.
