Folks, what is the difference between TR3 doors and TR3A doors.

The reason I am asking is because I am starting a tear down of my 57
TR3 and
I found that I have TR3A doors with the hole for the outside handle
bondo'd
over. I knew I had the wrong latches (or at lease was missing the
protruding
bits for the release cable attachment) but I come to find out that they
are the
wrong latches altogether. And now I find they are the wrong doors.

Dave, I'm thinking that there is no significant difference between TR3
and TR3A doors other than the door handle...UNTIL one gets to the
post-TS60000 body, where the doors were then all-metal (no wood at the
top other than where the side curtain brackets screwed in).

Meanwhile, it's been years since I've had any TR doors that far apart,
but I thought there was a bit of a "boss" around the hole for the
exterior door handle. But perhaps there wasn't on the earlier part-wood
doors such as yours. I know that the factory "GT" kit (hardtop)
included exterior door handles, but perhaps they mounted on an
otherwise flat door.

Guess we need more expert TR3 witnesses here. (Now if it had been a
HERALD.... :-) )

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
