I use the usual large size hand operated with a flexible tube. That
gets everywhere there is to get. You may need to get a long zerk for
the front U-joint as some have a standard length zerk & a grease gun tip
won't fit far enough in to reach the zerk.

8-point sockets are for square heads and are what you need for a torque
wrench... but I just snug 'em up. They're tapered and I've never has
one loosen.

I prefer to use the 'I-V' approach for the gearbox, use a funnel on a
tube run past the master cylinders and down to the filler hole. For the
diff I use a small funnel since (esp on a TR4) you are usually just
topping up (no drain plug).

Can't imagine synching the carbs w/o a Unisyn tool. The mixture nut is
an odd size and a tight fit against the spring so the little
purpose-made SU wrench it very handy. The other tools offered for
setting the float and measuring piston rise never seemed necessary to me.

Many opinions here... I use Castrol 20W50.

Mine's non-OD: Redline in the gearbox, Castrol hypoid in the diff.

I use engine oil but I'm in a never-cold climate.

I use the usual stuff so long as it has Moly in it.
