I use the usual large size hand operated with a flexible tube.  That 
gets everywhere there is to get.  You may need to get a long zerk for 
the front U-joint as some have a standard length zerk & a grease gun tip

8-point sockets are for square heads and are what you need for a torque 
wrench... but I just snug 'em up.  They're tapered and I've never has 
one loosen.

I prefer to use the 'I-V' approach for the gearbox, use a funnel on a 
tube run past the master cylinders and down to the filler hole.  For the 
diff I use a small funnel since (esp on a TR4) you are usually just 
topping up (no drain plug).

Can't imagine synching the carbs w/o a Unisyn tool.  The mixture nut is 
an odd size and a tight fit against the spring so the little 
purpose-made SU wrench it very handy.  The other tools offered for 
setting the float and measuring piston rise never seemed necessary to me.

Many opinions here... I use Castrol 20W50.

Mine's non-OD: Redline in the gearbox, Castrol hypoid in the diff.

I use engine oil but I'm in a never-cold climate.

I use the usual stuff so long as it has Moly in it.
