I think it is a question of investment. At one time I owned two TR6's. My
71 (which I had first) had required quite a bit of work, was a bit clapped out
and still had issues. The 74 was purchased in pretty good condition. With
about 55,000 miles it still had an impressive Royal Blue paint job and fairly
fresh interior. It was a good running car, too. But I sold the 74 because it
just sat there. Since I had so much more of my blood, sweat, and tears
invested in the 71 I was more attached to it and drove it more frequently.
Actually, I traded the 74 for my (my wife's) 57 TR3 which has required quite
a bit of work, was a bit clapped out and still had issues.
I guess it is a disease.
