TR3A overdrive unit

I have a 1958 TR3A and have recently been offered an complete Type A 
overdrive unit that I am told will replace the rear housing on my 
existing non-overdrive transmission for $500.
Does this sound feasible? Does $500. seem like a reasonable price?

Any advise would be appreciated.
