To find out how much assist the booster gives you remove the hose from the
booster and plug it and then drive the car (carefully). The brakes without the
booster are quite stiff. But since your car is compromised you have no
standard of reference. If there is a fellow TR6 owner in your area with
properly
functioning brakes give it a go in his car (he should learn, too) After you
know what they feel like in his car you can compare it to yours.
