For those who asked about my experience with the Renu process there's
something i should add. I managed to install the tank yesterday after quite a
battle.
Either the tank or the car had changed dimensions. The tabs on the tank
weren't lining up with the threaded mounting holes on the top brackets and
frame.
With the four screws at the top and sides of the tank tightened, the holes in
the tanks two remaining bottom tabs were covering the screw holes by 1/8".
I was able to get one screw started after loosening the upper four screws and
levering the tank downward using a broom handle. I then put some gas in the
tank and drove around a bit in hopes something would give...using the sturdier
handle of a snow shovel (broke the broom handle) i managed the last 1/8" and
threaded in the final screw.
I don't know if having the tank out for 5 weeks would have lessened the
structural integrity of the car and changed it's shape, or if the tanks
dimensions
were changed when the 5 plates were cut and welded during the Renu
process...just thought i would offer this.
