I would appreciate you forwarding copies of any replies you receive "off-list".
Replacing all the U-Joints on my TR4A, while definately tightening up the
drive chain, resulted in a very annoying resonance over 40 mph which didn't
exist previously. Subsequent replacement of a half-shaft which had a lot
of play and the rear-end bearings both in the diff and in the outer axles
has not improved the situation.
While there is some play in the diff gears, I can't believe this is the
cause of the problem.
I'm toying with the idea of having the driveshaft balanced (the arrows are
aligned), but can't figure out how it would suddenly become unbalanced.
Hopefully someone will have an answer we both can benefit from.
