I believe the "MP" part of the UK plate indicates that it was first
registered in North East London. In the UK, the plate stays with the car
for its whole life, so you have the original number plate.
You can go to the UK's Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency's website
(http://www.dvla.gov.uk/) to enquire about a vehicle, using their vehicle
enquiry service. I tried this, running your number plate, but there is no
info for this vehicle in their on-line database. However, thy did supply a
telephone number that you can call for personal assistance. I would imagine
they have the information, but it is just not available on-line. Give it a
whirl!
