OK, for me this begs the question: What is the difference between a normal
"tubeless" rim and a "safety" rim?
Tubeless tires have been around since the late 1940s at least and were pretty
common by at least the late 1950s. That said, I've heard of instances where
tire dealers were at the least hesitant to mount a tubeless tire on, say, a
Herald/Spitfire or TR rim even though OE tires were tubeless.
