Several helpful people gave me some filters that are used and I
cross-referenced them to Wix (they have the reputation for outstanding quality)
filters.
The Fram PH3600 crosses to Wix 51516
I was given a reference to a Wix 51034
I had previously referenced to Wix 51374. I forget how I finally reached this #.
So, what is different between these?
Well, the 51516 is 4.828(H) x 2.921(D) with a 8-11 psi bypass valve
The 51374 is 3.529(H) x 2.966(D) with a 8-11 psi bypass.
The 51034 is 4.526(H) x 2.921(D) with NO bypass.
So, which one is best? Probably they all will work. But it seems to me that a
bypass valve would be a good thing, so, maybe the 51034 is the least useful
option.
Presumably there is more filter area if the filter is longer, so the longest
(51516, Fram PH3600 equivalent) might have a slight edge over the 51374.
I have been using the 51374 for a year or 2 with no problems. In the past I had
used a PH3600 with no trouble too.
