I had a 2 wire alternator and that warning light is a blessing-when you
are 200 miles from home but in a town on saturday at 2pm before the auto
parts store closes for a lon weekend and you are about to drive another
1200 miles in 3 days -----its good to be able to say " gee that lights
never come on before" and be back on the road inside of an hour----- of
course it didn't help the axle that shed 10 teeth 2hours ( but inside
towing range ) later. We did finish the rally with the hard luck award
after the front wheel bearing went south on the Golden Gate bridge. Thanks
to TSI and Doug Taber and Hans Huber the bucket is ready for another year
of 1000 milers ---another note on the alternators they may need a heat
shield --even though the headers are wrapped , they are close to it. Heat
shield this weekend, Mike TR2inLA
