For you GT-6 aficionados: Couple questions - I 'm commencing a strip-down
of my '69's body in prep for a body-off experience.
1. How to remove the rear side vent windows? They seem to be riveted in.
Do I have to drill out the rivets?
2. Above the firewall, and just below the windshield, are two vents
(about 1.5 x 5 ") leading down to a round hole about 1.5" dia just behind
the windshield washer fluid bottle. This hole is loosely covered with a
flap of rubber. What are the vents for (they don't seem to go anywhere
except this hole in the firewall)? And why bother with this flap of rubber?
It doesn't begin to seal the hole.
3. The little flat bar that keeps the doors from opening too far - Is
there an easy way to remove those? Or do I have to use a hacksaw to remove
the scrunched bottom of the rivet-type bolts that connect it to the door?
(Sorry if my terminology isn't up to snuff. Hopefully someone will enlighten
me as to the real terms for these components)
If you folks can clear these up for me, we can tackle harder issues, like
world peace, and dark matter.
Thanks
Dave H. '69 GT6 "The Mistress" (dressed in red, waiting patiently to take
me for a ride, requiring lots of money for upkeep)
