Hi Randall, 

The wires are currently just zip tied to the shaft, on the outside, down into 
the rubber shifter boot. (I didn't know the  TR3 shift lever was hollow! 
Maybe I should try to find one.) 

I have considered just covering it all with black shrink tubing, to protect 
and hide the wires.

So you ran the wires on the outside of the shaft ?  Or do you have a TR3 style
hollow shaft ?
