Caution is advised here. The original writer mentioned using Michelin XZXs,
by now a pretty old tire. Tubes, like tires, have a finite life whether on the
shelf or on the car -- even without a wheel being turned in anger. The
tubes in the XZXs are likely getting on in years. Tubes are also pretty
affordable. I'd advocate new tubes with the new tires, particularly if the
existing
tubes are old or of unknown vintage.
Of course, this comment applies to tires/wheels that require tubes (wire
wheels, typically). Modern tires on Triumph steel wheels shouldn't need tubes
and wouldn't benefit from them.
