That's what I did. I also increased the size (#6 to #8 approx.). Works fine.
It might be easier to weld to the outside, though.
I don't think anyone has ever designed a good,
easily-removed-without-destroying-it
dust cap.
Hey, maybe the dust cap marked the beginning of planned obsolesence as a
marketing tool. It might be the very foundation of all throw-away/capitalistic
societies today!
