Fellow Triumphers...Years ago when my TR4 was undergoing bodywork, the VIN
plate was removed for "restoration" and promtly lost. Now, the title is
missing and I need the VIN to order a replacement title. Any clues as to
where a
VIN may be stamped on the body or frame?
I know of two places on the Spridget besides the VIN plate, but nothing on
the TR4.

...and there's no other place I know of on most Triumphs, other than on the
original commission number plate. However, if you still have the original
engine and body numbers, you can have BMIHT do a search on those and get a
certificate for the car.

Currently, it's $50 US for the certificate plus an extra $15 to do the
search on engine/body numbers. Note, though, that their prices are going up
March
1, according to a notice on the web site.

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
