I thought I would post a positive story on after market electronic ignitions.

I owned both a 79 MG Midget & a 78 MGB which were used by my kids as
their transport. Both were used & came with the cursed OEM Lucas
electronic ignition that failed regularly & often. In both cases I
replaced the Lucas system with Crane (and its precursor) electronic
ignitions and both cars started to have the reliability
characteristics of my wife's Hondas.

I always mounted the control unit in an area that got a lot of fresh
air to keep them as cool as I could in Florida. When I sold each car
they were still strong & reliable.

My current TR3 came with a Crane system with the control box mounted
high on the firewall. When I replace the radiator this winter, I
plan on moving it forward to get a little more cooling air.
