differential. I have the pinion drive flange off, and now I'm wondering
what the best way to remove the old seal is? Any advice from those of you
who have BTDT? BTW, the differential is still in the car.

I've never discovered a really elegant way to remove an old seal, I've
typically just pryed them out with a screwdriver. That tears them up
pretty bad but they are destined for the rubbish anyway. There are some
special seal puller tools out there but I have yet to invest in one.
But the real reason for my post is that if you are going to all the trouble
of replacing the seal consider installing a Speedi Sleeve (R) on the pinion
flange. This will give your new seal a smooth, clean surface against which
to seal. Take your flange to your local bearing house and ask for a Speedi
Sleeve (R) to fit.
