It's not flat by a long shot, and the thickness is important. Anything as
thick as safety glass will not fit in the groove in the mounting rubber.
There are lots of hardware pieces, but generally people are referring to the
3 brackets and special bolts that hold the hardtop to the windsheild on a
TR3A (which require drilling the windsheild frame and cutting the rubber
gasket), plus the 5 chrome cappings and special bolts that hold it to the
cockpit rail. I'm fairly certain all TR3A have the brackets inside the
cockpit rail, but some earlier TR2-3 do not, and they have to be added also
when fitting a hardtop. The instructions are in the back of the factory
TR2-3 service manual.
