Note that better heat transfer in the head will make no difference to what
you see on the gauge.
Whether better transfer in the radiator shows on the gauge or not depends on
a lot of things, including how much temperature drop there is across the
water/metal interface in the radiator. I suspect it's not much, at least at
idle, since the radiator fins feel almost as hot as the thermostat housing
to me (and the fins should be substantially cooler than the tubes).
