Did the motor smoke or the pressure switch?

Try WW Grainger or McMaster carr. A 1 phase 5 HP 230 V capacitor start motor
is just under $400 from WW Grainger, McMaster carr is 310. They probably
can be gotten for less, these catalogs have advertised prices and account
prices.

Also try a local motor shop, they should have something in stock. However,
avoid made in China motors ( even if they have a name brand ). Good ones are:
GE, Baldor, Seimens, ABB. Dayton is the so so house brand of WW Grainger,
Emerson makes lots of low cost, undersized, short life compressor motors.

Measure the motor bolt patern and shaft size, look for the frame size on the
motor. The replacement might be a larger frame and require redrilling of the
compressor top.

If the area you are in does not have lots of dust, use a ODP ( Open Drip
Proof ) . If the area has piles of dust ( not likely in a home shop ) a TEFC (
Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled ) would be the choice.
