I have an Autec AL-2006 low-rise lift. See

It's great for brake and suspension work on my Spitfire, or cleaning its
lower body parts, like the rear valance.
It's less suited for my TR3A, because the chassis members aren't as apart
as the lift arms and I don't want to lift the car on the chassis
outriggers. So that's one thing to check before you go out and buy a lift.
Also be sure the lift drops down low enough when folded. Mine is only 4"
high, but a clamp on the exhaust system of my Spitfire can sometimes just
catch it. The car won't go over the folded lift at all when the driver is
still in it...

Beware of the cheapest ones. Some of them have rollers that churn up the
