<Anyone know how these rivets are used to attach the door checkstrap retainer? They don't have the typical rivet shank on them that pulls into the gun and then snaps off - instead, they have a hollow sleeve where you would think the shank would go. > Yes. You strike the hollow end with a mandrel to expand it and flatten it out. Not easy when in the car - what engineer thought of that?
