Steve, there's something wrong with this picture ... normally, on a Triumph,
the anti-runon valve is not connected to the manifold at all, it's connected
to the bottom of the carbon cannister. It's normally open, closes to
airflow only when activated. And, when it's closed, the engine should die
promptly.
Might help if you told us what car & year you have ...
