Driving in the rain the last few days has soaked the leather in my driving
gloves. They don't seem to be getting stiff, but I would like something to
make them a little more water resistant (without making them slick, of
course). Any suggestions ?
A little DOT 5 perhaps ?
Randall!..........if you ARE serious here?..........<g>.........
Great article on leather protection and care in the new issue of Auto
Restorer......I think their conclusion would be to do nothing.....or use a
little
Lexol.......one wants the leather to breathe......any kind of oil will seal
pours.....my suggestion........do nothing.........dry slowly...........the main
issue for you will be the salt in your sweat........(e.g. handball gloves)
which
WILL dry and stiffen them.......used to wash mine gently in Ivory, rinse well,
let them dry 80%, then wear them doing something until the heat of my hands
finished the drying........
Good luck!
