you can take your car to a local moving company.  just call ahead.  most have
what they call 'public scales'.  they really are long monster scales.  you
drive on the thing and they weigh you.  it's only like $10 and so cool to get
an accurate weight to the pound.  they will give you a print out.  it's
amazing how much different everyone's cars weigh.  might be fun for a bunch of
people to have their cars weighed and we can share the numbers on the list.
