Are the springs leaf or coil?
If leaf you might try removing one of the leaves and/or replacing that leaf
with one from the old spring pack. ( For height adjustment. try one of the
upper leaves)
If coil cutting a coil off is a option that "works" but isn't always
recommended. Some springs are designed on the edge of the limits and removing
coils
can stress them causing a failure.
Cutting 1/2 of a coil wouldn't be a problem and might trim the ride to your
liking.
As others have said, if the springs are good quality they won't settle.
