Thanks to all who have replied. I appreciate all the help. I've been 
reading all the replies and studying Bentley and the TRF catalog so I'm 
getting the drift of what each of you have suggested.

Looks like the front seal and the two stub axle seals are leaking so I 
guess if nothing else those should be replaced, and probably the stub 
axle bearings while I'm at it.

I think the lash is very small. Maybe 1/32" or less at the stub axle 
housings. From most of the replies it sounds like I should not need a 
rebuild with only 60K original miles. I bought it new so I know the 
history. It has had a gentle life.

One follow up question...

I understand the stub axle bearings need to be pressed off/on. Is there 
anything special or unusual about these bearings and stub axle or is it 
the same as pressing off/on any rear axle bearing. Any machine shop can 
do it.
