TR6 Brake pedal return spring?

In looking for a replacement spring for my clutch
pedal I noed my catalaog shows the same spring for the
TR6 brake pedal.  My TR6 doesn't have a brake pedal
return spring, should it have one?  It looks as if it
did have one it would be fouled by the brake light
switch.  

Apologies for the seemingly inane question but one
never knows what the dpo removed and failed to
replace.
