The keyword is benevolent. All other things being equal, one might
conclude that the list ground rules would accomodate the majority of the
listers. Said another way, and only just to make a point, why would
anyone go to the work of offerring a list whose ground rules were not in
harmony with the majority of listers? I'm not saying the current ground
rules are not in harmony with the majority of listers. I'm just making a
point.

I'm overwhelmed with spam. How do you keep all the spam from chewing up
your ISP email limit?

Seems to me that if the commercial emails were identified in the subject
line they could be filtered or deleted by those who consider them spam'ish.

I would also think that there could be some ground rules put in place,
and that the volume would be insignificant compared to the spam that
buries me now.

I can't imagine any of the ligitimate vendors, and friends of our hobby,
like Ted, Richard Good, BPNW, TRF or whomever would risk alienating
their customer base -- members of this list. I think they all realize
that the customer base, while not tiny, is also not unlimited. It's not
like they're selling toothpaste :-)

Could be it would work... the current autojumble sure doesn't work for
whatever reason.

I feel dependent on these vendors. I want them to stay in business. I
need them, maybe more than they need me. There's a big difference
between these guys and the local Walmart. Maybe someday they'll figure
out it's easier to sell toothpaste than Triumph parts... :-)
