Manolet,
This is not the prettiest way, or even perhaps the right way, but it worked
great on my TR4 for many years.
Add piece of wire (or plastic cable) from leftside battery hold down threaded
'rod' (at top), run this wire across front of battery toward latch direction.
Add a pretty hefty spring to end of the wire. Hook other end of the spring to
lever of your latch (on top of release cable trunnion fixture). Adjust length
of the wire to stretch spring to appropriate tension to hold latch closed
tighter than normal. Also make sure head of plunger is going completely through
latch lock (it's adjustable - unlock lock nut on hood and screw plunger head in
or out). Make sure your release cable is in excellent condition as the extra
spring adds more stress to cable (you might want to fabricate an backup
release mechanism).

--------
My hood/bonnet keeps on popping up.
The lid used to open only when I'd hit a bump or hole but it has recently
gotten worse. Now it pops open even when the engine's running. Won't stay
closed for more than 10 secs.
Help!
