Is the pinion still in the rear end? Are you going to change the front
bearing?
If the pinion is out and the front bearing is going to be changed, press out
the front race, this usually takes the seal with it. If the race comes out
without the seal, use a long rod and hammer to press the seal out from the back.
If the pinion is still in the rear end, continue to pry on the seal. Even if
one end is pushing towards the housing, the other end will soon pry out. Be
careful not to damage the seal bore, sometimes the puller will get caught on
the edge and scrape the bore.
