Dadblastit!
The TR6 has started doing what my TR4 was doing about a year ago.
For no apparent reason what so ever, the ammeter will suddenly in the middle of
a drive decide to swing way up to the positive side of the ammeter.
It didn't quite PEG itself like the TR4 would do . . . but it is way up there,
and enough to make one uncomfortable.
It did it once about a week or two ago . . . and I idled the car back down and
drove back towards home with as low RPMs as I could manage.
A short while later .. . it righted itself and started acting normal again.
On the way home from work today, it did it again. . .only it never returned to
normal.
Is my alternator going out? (it's a stock Lucas alternator correct for a 1970
TR6)
Scott Tilton
1970 TR6 and an 1963 TR4 commuter vehicles.
By the way .. I've got a 1994 Acura Integra that was hit by a deer.
Still works good . . .but it isn't really worth repairing.
Anyone know what I should do with it?
