Hello list. Here is the formula for compression ration. CR = V1 + V2
divided by V2. V1 is the volume of the cylinder. V2 is the volume of
space above the piston at TDC (top dead center). Example - V! = 450
cc's; V2 = 50cc's so 450 plus 50 = 500 divided by 50 (V2) = 10:1.
Making the bore bigger increases compression. Having domed pistons
reduces V2. Dished pistons reduces V!. Ted
