Bad News...After Randall's warning about overloading fuses, I meant
to check the fuses in Casper...did not get around to it until last
night when for the first time in Months we were out in Casper and it
got dark. OK...lights on...no problem...panel lights
on...problem...smoke arising from under dash...fortunately we were
stopped in a parking lot. Lights off, smoke stops...still gotta go
home...lights on, hold your breath...No Smoke, made it home OK.
This morning I checked the damage, wire from center panel lights
to Tach, Speedo, fried, actually burned in two...check the
fuses...Yup, Randall was right again, 30 AMP...I think they had been
there as long as we had the car, can't recall actually blowing one
(like I could), replaced them with 20 AMP...or should I go down
to 15 AMP ??
Lesson learned...when you are warned of a possible dangerous
problem...Check It OUT...don't wait for it to happen.
Good News...I got to refresh my soldering skills...
Take Care
