In theory the oil seal replacement requires the removal of the pinion flange
and this needs to be retightened to the correct torque to preload the pinion
bearings to give a set amount of resistance when turned.
In practise I have heard of carefully retightening the pinion nut to the
approx figure as removal with positive results.
A friend of mine once suggested 70lbs torque.
Never tried it my self on a TR but years ago I did this on a Ford and worked
fine for me at the time.
