The new Crane modules are supposedly much improved, eliminating the former
primary cause of failure (excessive heat generated with the engine not
running but the ignition on). If you were happy with the Crane before it
failed, you might consider just upgrading.
OTOH, for absolute "always gets you home" reliability, points are pretty
hard to beat.
