Al,
For what its worth, my opinion is to go with the original Java Green for
two reasons: 1) Java is a relatively rare and unusual color and some
people go out of their way to hunt for Java TR6's because of the rarity.
2) If you go with original color, you (and the future owners if you ever
sell it) will never regret it! The codes will match correctly.

76 TR6 (red, same as 900 zillion other TR6s out there)
68 MGB/GT (currently in the same decision stage as you... its in primer
and waiting for paint. I will probably go with the original primrose
yellow color, partly for originality, but mainly just so it doesn't look
exactly like every other red MGB out there).

Subject: Paint Colors
I decided to stick with old faithful and give it a face lift.
It went into the paint shop today.
I've got two days left to decide on a color.
As they started to sand off the 2 cent blue paint job, the original Java
green
underneath looked pretty good. I was going to go with resale red and then
I
started to think about the black body tub with red stripes at the TRF last
year.
I just happen to have a silver and a red triumph stripe kit hoarded away.
,red,black,blue, java green,red,black,blue,green .red,black, blue. Any
other
great color choices?
