i have replaced the water pump on the 80 tr7. it has fixed the leak out the
weap hole of the block. i note that i have moisture on the top of the
block. both anti freeze and oil. it is not enough to drip onto the floor
of the garage, so not like a real large leak or anything, but still you can
see like puddles on top of engine, under intake manifold. perhaps i am a
perfectionist but it is driving me nuts and will eventually drip. i have a
craftsman micro torque wrench and i tightened the water pump cover and
intake manifold to 20 lbs per bolt. should i tighten it down a little more,
say 25 lbs ? the book says 20 lbs. or should i remove it (again - it's
okay, i am an expert now and can remove it in 15 mins flat) and put gasket
goo on ? the gaskets went on bare, no chemicals.
