A comment from a friend of mine who is an avid Ford restorer......and has 2
Model A's.
The number 600.000 A's restored and on the road is probably very exaggerated
. Years ago some research was done by looking at the number of A's registered
in the States. They guessed there was maybe 500.000. These would not all be
restored.
The model A restorer has a tough time getting "good" repro parts. There are
lots of suppliers but many of the parts are either completely wrong or have to
be re engineered by the restorer. Finding original parts is still possible and
the best bet.
Guess it's still an imprefect and difficult world for us restorers of all
makes, eh?
