The wide "lyre" back seats are for TR2 and TR3, both non-folding for your
TR2, and 1 folding, 1 non-folding for the TR3 (smallmouth cars). The narrow
seat backs are for TR3A/B after 22014. And since tou brought the early TR4
into the discussion, they use the "narrow" TR3A/B seat back with a
different "dished" lower pan (and both seats are folding).
The confusion comes from Moss et al selling reproduction seat pans under
a "one number fits all" philosophy. Hopefully your seat supplier knows the
difference and has stitched your TR2 seat kit to fit real TR2 seats. The
trouble arrives when you buy 2 new seats (which will be supplied as TR3A/B
units), and try to fit proper smallmouth seat upholstery. Contact me off list
