Steve, I had the same problem. My body shop couldn't find a match for that
number in a modern two stage paint. We painted the car using that code and
older style paint with no clear coat. It turned out gorgeous.

Another note on Signal Red. A lot of the list replies mentioned that no two
reds are exactly the same. I compared the signal red cars at Triumphest and
they were right. Each car was a slightly different shade. But they all
looked good.

Use the 70966 code. When the car comes back, you will be very happy.

Subject: Signal Red modern paint code?

| Does anyone know a modern paint code for Signal Red?
|
| My 71 TR6 is signal red, and I finally have the funds to paint it, but
| I can't find a modern paint code! I have looked online at various
| sources, and found a 70966 Ditzler code (which is somehow related to
| PPG I think), but my painter friend couldn't match this to anything
| modern. I am hoping to match the original color as closely as possible.
|
| Thanks.
| Steve
