I'm not sure what you are asking for here, number wise.
What do you mean by 'matching' numbers? Are you looking for the original
engine that was in your car? Did you send for a British Motor Industry
Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate ? If so, it will have the
original build numbers for your car and it's components. Contained in an
individual car are components (body, trans, diff, engine, etc) all of which
have unique numbers.
For example my 250 has a commission number of CD5182L, an engine number of
CC5175E, diff number of 5145, a transmission number of CD7424,and body serial
number of 5113C. These are the same numbers which appear on my BMIHT
certificate. None of these numbers 'match' any other within my car...match
being defined as the 'same number'.
