The top edge of the windshield frame is different on the Mk2 from the Mk3 2. The way the soft top frame on a Mk2 is removable whereas the Mk3 folds down. These two things would definitely create a problem. Overcome them and the contour of the Mk2 and Mk3 bodies are the same and would then fit.
