I just finished reinstalling the carbs I rebuilt on my 6 and seem to be
experiencing an idle speed problem. Before spending a day or two
troubleshooting and tuning, I thought I'd see if anyone here has experienced
this: When idle screws are set to give a 900-1,000 rpm with engine warm, I
get a random increase in idle speed to about 1,500 - 1,800 for about ten
seconds then back to 1,000. Choke is all the way in. This happened about 3
or 4 times during a five minute period. No adjustments were made during this
time. Could I have a bad needle valve?
On my carb set only one bypass valve is adjustable and I haven't fooled with
this yet
I've got all the emission hoses replaced correctly for a '72. Again, have
done no mixture adjust or synchronizing yet.
Any (hopefully easy) suggestions from the list?
