  Hi Bob,
   Are you sure you have enough oil in the tranny? Is it not warmed up
enough to flow through the small hydraulic orifices, or too thick for
the colder climate? Are the lockout switches wired correctly? (I assume
they are if it's actually pulling in the solenoid) Do A-type O/D's have
an adjustment under a cover plate for setting the solenoid plunger
distance?
   I haven't an A-type. Mines a J, but these are the first questions
that come to mind.

    Today I put my newly rebuilt A type overdrive .  Got nothing.  The
solenoid engaged but the OD did not engage. When I disengaged the OD
there was
no loud click.  Does that mean it is not building pressure? Is there
anything
I can check while the OD is in situ, or do I have to pull it to diagnose
it?
