Yes, the MK1 has a generator and not an alternator. I will replace it and see if that corrects the problem. I have a spare around here some place. I probably never wouldn't have thought to look at generator for the battery is getting charged. I know I need to adjust the carbs a touch too. Thnaks for the great info everyone.
