I had just about convinced myself that an epoxy coating was the best
choice for a garage floor but this weekend I saw a 4-year-old floor that
had been professionally coated with an epoxy... the 'paint' had lost its
gloss and was lifting in many places.
Poor application? ....or are these coatings less durable than dealers
promise?
What did look good (in another heavily used garage) was a tile floor.
Had some dings and scrapes of course but still cleaned up to looking
pretty nice. (Perhaps this was asphalt tile?).
Generally I am looking for a floor that can be swept & mopped and kept
quite clean, light enough in color to give good light reflection, oil
drips (LBC content) easily wiped up & hard enough not to show dents from
table legs. All this is in a dry climate so melting snow, etc are not a
concern.
Who has experience with a floor covering that has proven durable &
attractive over time?
