I have the ignition key in the old rheostat hole. It looks quite cute in
there. Almost like the old wooden muskoka gas boats. If you don't want the
keys on the dashboard when driving, put the key somewhere else, but put in a
push starter button.

Hi,

I remember reading here or on the web somewhere about someone who had
replace
the rheostat in their dash with an extra gauge (oil temp I believe).

I couldn't find the info. I'm considering swapping out the disconnected
rheostat in my TR6 for a oil temp or a oil pressure/water temp gauge as
a backup to the main ones (which I know are way off).

Plus, I like workign gauges, whereas the rheostat knob is useless. (Unless
someone has an interesting idea of what to do with the rheostat besides
controlling the dash lights.)
